How To Add An Admin On Your RimWorld Together Server

Managing your colony is much easier when you have some help! Granting admin privileges on your RimWorld Together server allows trusted players to access the in-game admin menu, tweak server settings, and manage mod synchronization on the fly.

Let us get your administrators set up so you can keep your cooperative session running smoothly.

Important Note: The player you want to promote must be actively online and connected to the server while you do this!

Step 1: Find the Player ID

Because players connect through various platforms, the server uses specific ID numbers to identify them.

  1. Log into your MintServers panel and navigate to the Console tab on the left-hand sidebar.
  2. Make sure the player you want to promote is currently loaded into the server.
  3. In the console input box at the bottom, type the command deeplist and press Enter.
  4. The console will output a list of all currently connected players along with their unique ID numbers. Copy the exact ID number of the player you want to promote.

Step 2: Grant Admin Privileges

Now that you have their ID, giving them administrative power is just one more quick command.

  1. In that same Console input box, type op followed by a space and the player's ID number you just copied (for example: op 1234567890).
  2. Press Enter. The server will immediately grant them admin access!

Tip: If you ever need to remove someone's admin powers, you can use the exact same process but type deop followed by their ID instead!

Step 3: Accessing the Admin Menu In-Game

Once a player has been given admin rights from the console, they need to enable a quick setting in their own game client to actually see the management menu.

  1. Join the server as the newly promoted admin.
  2. Press the ESC key on your keyboard and click on Options.
  3. Look for the Development mode setting and check the box to turn it on, then hit OK to save.
  4. Press ESC again to open the pause menu. You will now see a brand new Admin menu option available!

If you run the op command but the player still cannot see the Admin menu, double-check that they correctly turned on Development mode in their game options. If you run into any trouble getting your admins configured, no worries! Just open a support ticket and our team will jump in and fix that together.
