How to Join a RimWorld Together Server

RimWorld Together is a multiplayer mod that allows you to experience the colony simulation survival game with friends in real-time. Before connecting to your hosted RimWorld Together server, you must install the RimWorld Together mod on your client. This guide will walk you through both installing the required mod and connecting to your hosted server for cooperative colony management and survival adventures.

Installing RimWorld Together (Steam)

1. Subscribe to RimWorld Together on the Steam Workshop.

2. When prompted, click Subscribe to All to include the Harmony prerequisite.

3. Launch RimWorld and select Mods.

4. Drag and drop Harmony and RimWorld Together to the Enabled section.

5. Hit Auto-sort mods.

6. Choose Save and apply changes on the lower right.

7. Hit OK to restart the game.

Step 1: Access Your Server Details

Navigate to https://mintservers.com/dashboard and log into your account.

Click on your RimWorld Together server and then "Open Game Panel".

Take note of the IP address and Port from your server panel. The format will look like this: 158.62.204.17:25555

Step 2: Launch RimWorld

Launch RimWorld with the RimWorld Together mod enabled.

Step 3: Select Play Together

From the main menu, select Play Together to access the multiplayer options.

Step 4: Enter Username

Enter a username for your multiplayer session and hit Confirm.

Step 5: Connect to Your Server

Input the IP address and Port from Step 1 and hit Confirm.

Example: IP: 158.62.204.17 Port: 25555

You will now connect to your RimWorld Together server and can begin your cooperative colony experience.

Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble connecting, verify these common issues:

  1. Ensure your server is running and online in the game panel
  2. Verify RimWorld Together mod and Harmony are properly installed and enabled
  3. Double-check the IP address and port number are correct
  4. Make sure all players have the same version of RimWorld and RimWorld Together
  5. Check that mod load order is correct with Harmony loaded before RimWorld Together
