Modding a Project Zomboid server used to be a tedious process of copying and pasting long strings of Workshop IDs and Mod IDs into your server settings. Missing a single comma could break the entire server.
To make your life easier, MintServers has integrated a powerful 1-Click Mod Installer directly into your game panel. You can now browse, install, and sync mods without ever touching a configuration file. Here is how to use it.
How To Install Steam Workshop Collections
If you have a massive list of mods, installing them one by one is entirely unnecessary. You can compile them into a Steam Workshop Collection and import them all at once.
- Open the Steam Workshop for Project Zomboid, go to the Collections tab, and find or create a collection.
- Copy the URL or the Workshop ID of the collection.
- Go back to the
PZ Modstab on your MintServers panel. - Click the
Importbutton located next to the search bar. - In the popup window, change the
IMPORT TYPEdropdown toCollection. - Paste your link or ID into the
WORKSHOP URL OR IDtext box. - Click the green
Importbutton to begin the download.
The panel will automatically fetch and download every single mod contained within that collection directly to your server files.
How To Install Individual Mods
If you are looking to add specific items, vehicles, or quality-of-life tweaks, you can search for them or import them directly.
- Navigate to your MintServers game panel and select your Project Zomboid server.
- In the left-hand menu, locate and click on the
PZ Modstab. - You can use the
Search Steam Workshopbar to look up the exact name of the mod and install it directly from the results. - Alternatively, click the
Importbutton, set theIMPORT TYPEtoSingle Item, paste the mod's URL or ID, and click the greenImportbutton.
How Mod File Syncing Works
The best feature of the PZ Mods tab is the automatic file synchronization. When you install a mod or an entire collection, you do not need to edit any text files.
Automatic Configuration
The panel intelligently scans the downloaded files and automatically injects the correct Workshop IDs and Mod IDs directly into your server settings. It ensures everything is formatted perfectly, completely eliminating version mismatch errors or missing map dependencies.
If you decide to remove a mod later, simply delete it from your Installed list in the PZ Mods tab. The panel will automatically clean up your configuration files and remove the associated IDs. Once your mods are installed, just restart your server and you are ready to play!
