Want to change the weather, switch into creative mode, or teleport across your world? To use most in-game commands on a Minecraft Bedrock server, you first need to enable cheats in your server settings.
Let us walk through the dashboard and get those cheats enabled so you can have full control over your world!
Enabling cheats will permanently disable Xbox Live achievements for this specific world. Also, always remember to Stop your server before editing configuration files so your changes save correctly!
Step 1: Edit Your Server Properties
- Log into your MintServers panel and click the Stop button to ensure your server is completely offline.
- On the left-hand sidebar, click on the Server Properties tab
- Locate the setting that says
allow-cheats. - Toggle to enable..
Step 2: Grant Operator (OP) Status
Even with cheats enabled on the server, players cannot use them unless they have administrative permissions. You need to make yourself an Operator!
- Head back to the Console tab on the left sidebar and click Start to boot up your server.
- Once the server says it is fully loaded, join your world in-game.
- Go to your MintServers Console and type the following command into the input bar at the bottom:
op YourUsername(Replace "YourUsername" with your actual gamer tag). - Press Enter. You will see a message in-game confirming you are now a server operator!
🛠️ Troubleshooting Cheats
Commands still are not working: If the game says you do not have permission to use a command, double-check that you completed Step 2 and spelled your username exactly right in the console. Spaces in your name must be wrapped in quotes like this: op "My Gamertag".
No worries if your server is still being stubborn and refusing to let you cheat! Just open a support ticket and our team will gladly jump in and instruct you on how to resolve the configuration.
