A fresh RuneScape: Dragonwilds server needs a few values filled in before it will even boot. Most of them are pre-filled for you, but one of them (your Owner ID) can only come from you. This guide walks through each setting, where it lives on your MintServers panel, and the order to do things in so your first start goes smoothly.
Where the Settings Live
Everything in this guide is set from one place. Log into your MintServers panel, open your Dragonwilds server, and click Game Settings in the left-hand sidebar. Each option below is a field on that page. There's no need to open DedicatedServer.ini by hand; the panel passes these values to the server every time it starts.
The Four Required Settings
Owner ID
This is your personal Player ID from the game, and it's the one field that starts out empty. The server refuses to start without it, and even if it did, it wouldn't be listed in the in-game world browser. The ID is found inside the game under Settings, at the bottom-left of the screen. Whoever's ID goes here becomes the server Owner, with full ban and unban powers over everyone.

Server Name
The label your server carries no matter which world it happens to be running. Players see it as the "Created By" line when they find your world. It comes pre-filled with a generic name, so change it to whatever you like.
Default World Name
The name of the world the server creates the first time it starts. This is also the name your friends will type into the in-game search to find you. The search only matches the full, exact world name (typing Mint won't find MintyWorld) and it's case-sensitive, so pick something easy to spell and remember. There's also a Direct tab in the game where players can enter your server's IP and port instead of searching.
.sav file exists in the SaveGames folder, the server keeps loading that world under its original name and ignores this field. Changing it later does not rename your world. If you want a new name, you need a new world (or an uploaded one).
Admin Password
Anyone who types this password into the in-game Server tab becomes an Admin, which lets them kick and ban players who are online. A random password is already generated for you, so you don't have to set one before starting. You can change it whenever you like; just note that changing it revokes Admin status from everyone who used the old one.
The Optional Setting: World Password
Leave it blank and anyone who finds your world, whether by searching the name or by direct-connecting to your IP and port, can walk right in. Set a password and the game asks for it before letting anyone join. The server still shows up in the Public list either way; the password is what gates the door. If you want a private server for friends, set this before you hand out the world name.
Your First Start, Step by Step
- Open the game, go to Settings, and copy your Player ID from the bottom-left of the screen.
- On your MintServers panel, make sure the server is stopped, then open Game Settings.
- Paste your Player ID into Owner ID.
- Set Server Name and Default World Name to what you want. Add a World Password if the server should be private.
- Leave Admin Password as is, or replace it with your own.
- Save your changes.
- Go to the Console tab and click Start. Watch the log until you see
START SESSION - Success. That line means the world is loaded and listed.
