Runescape: Dragonwilds
Every RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server is listed in the game's Public tab, and there's no toggle to hide it. What you can do is put a password on the door. Anyone can still see the world in search results, but nobody gets in without the World Password. Setting it takes about a minute.
Setting the World Password
- Log into your MintServers panel and open your Dragonwilds server.
- On the Console tab, click Stop and wait for the server to go offline.
- Click Game Settings in the left-hand sidebar.
- Find the World Password field and type the password you want players to use.
- Save your changes.
- Return to the Console tab and click Start.
From the next boot on, anyone who selects your world and clicks Enter World will get a password prompt before loading in. Players using the Direct tab enter it in that tab's Password field instead.
How the World Password Behaves
A few things worth knowing before you hand the password out:
- It overrides the save file. Worlds created in singleplayer can carry their own password inside the
.sav. Whatever you put in the World Password field wins over that. Leaving the field blank means the world is open, even if the save had a password originally. - Blank means public. With no World Password, anyone who finds your world, either by searching the exact name or by entering your IP and port on the Direct tab, can join. That's fine for a community server; less so for a private group.
- It applies to Direct connect too. The Direct tab has its own Password field. Players connecting by IP:PORT type the same World Password there.
- It isn't the Admin Password. The World Password gets people in. The Admin Password gives people kick and ban powers once they're in. Keep them different, and only share the Admin Password with people you trust to moderate. See How to Set an Admin Password and Kick or Ban Players.
Removing the Password
Same steps as above: stop the server, clear the World Password field, save, start. The world becomes open to anyone on the next boot.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Password Problems
No password prompt appears:The server was probably running when you saved. Stop it, re-enter the password, save, start.Friends say the password is wrong:Check for a trailing space in the field, and make sure they're using the World Password rather than the Admin Password.Old singleplayer password still works:It shouldn't once World Password is set. If it does, confirm the field actually saved by reopening Game Settings.
