Setting a password on your Palworld server is the simplest way to keep it exclusive to you and the people you actually want playing. Once it's set, anyone trying to join, whether by direct IP or through the Community Servers list, will be asked for the password before they can get in.
Step 1: Set Your Server Password
- Log into your MintServers panel and select your Palworld server.
- Go to Game Settings in the left sidebar.
- Find the Server Password field and enter the password you want to use.
- Save your changes, then Restart your server.

Step 2: How Friends Join A Password-Protected Server
Your friends will still need your server's IP address and port to connect, the same as any other server. Our guide on joining your Palworld server covers that process in full. The only extra step is entering the password itself:
- From the main menu, click Join Multiplayer Game.
- Enter the server's IP address and port into the address field at the bottom of the screen.
- Check the box labeled Enter Password, then type the password into the field that appears.
- Click Connect.
Server Password vs. Admin Password
These are two different fields that are easy to mix up. Your Server Password is what players enter just to join the server. Your Admin Password is a separate field used to grant yourself admin permissions once you're already in the game, for things like kicking, banning, and managing the server. Setting one doesn't affect the other. If you haven't set up admin access yet, see our guide on becoming an admin on your Palworld server.
To remove your server password later and make the server open to anyone again, clear out the Server Password field and Restart your server.
If you run into any trouble getting the password to save or friends still can't get past it, no worries! Just open a support ticket and our team will be happy to help you get it locked down properly.
