Valheim is a popular Viking survival game that is perfect for multiplayer adventures with friends. Whether you are hosting your own server or joining an existing one, connecting to your world is simple and takes just a few steps.

Step 1: Access Your Server Details
Before you launch the game, you will need to grab your unique server address from your control panel.
- Navigate to the MintServers Dashboard at
https://mintservers.com/dashboardand log into your account. - Click on your Valheim server from the list and select Open Game Panel.
- Locate your server's IP address and port number. Copy this information as you will need it to connect. The format will look something like this:

Step 2: Launch Valheim and Select Character
- Open the Valheim game on your computer.
- From the main menu, click Start Game to begin the connection process.
- Choose the character you want to play with on the server. If this is your first time playing, you will need to create a new character first!
Step 3: Join Game and Add Server
- Click the Join Game tab from the top menu bar to access the server browser.
- Select Add Server to manually add your server connection details.
- Paste the IP address and port from Step 1 in the exact format shown earlier.
Step 4: Connect to Your Server
After entering your server details, click Connect to join your Valheim server!
If your server has a password, you will be prompted to enter it before connecting.
By default, freshly installed Valheim servers use the password
changeMe. You can easily update this to something more secure in your Game Settings tab on the panel!

- Server Offline: Ensure your server is actually running and shows as "Online" in the MintServers game panel before trying to join.
- Typo in Address: Double-check the IP address and port number to make sure no extra spaces were added when pasting.
- Password Issues: Confirm any server password is entered correctly. Passwords are case-sensitive!
- Network Block: Check that your computer's firewall or antivirus settings are not accidentally blocking the game's connection.
