How To Change The Language And Region On Your 7 Days To Die Server

Setting the correct language and region for your 7 Days to Die server is crucial for building a community. When players search the public server browser, they often filter by these exact parameters to find hosts with low ping and a matching language.

You can easily update how your server appears in the browser by editing a few quick lines in your configuration file.

Locating Your Configuration File

  1. Log into your MintServers panel and completely stop your 7 Days to Die server.
  2. Navigate to the Files tab on the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Follow this exact path:
  4. 📁 server (or your main server directory)

Editing Your Region And Language

Once you have the serverconfig.xml file open in the text editor, scroll down until you see the properties for Region and Language (usually around lines 15 through 18).

1. Setting The Region

Find the line that looks like this:

You must change the text inside the value quotes to match your actual server location. The game only accepts specific, exact formats for this value. Choose one of the following options (make sure there are no spaces):

  • NorthAmericaEast
  • NorthAmericaWest
  • CentralAmerica
  • SouthAmerica
  • Europe
  • Russia
  • Asia
  • MiddleEast
  • Africa
  • Oceania

2. Setting The Language

Next, find the language line right below it:

Change the value to your preferred primary language. Important: You must use the English spelling of the language name! For example, if you want your server to be listed as German, you must type German instead of Deutsch, otherwise players will not be able to find it when filtering.

Saving Your Changes

Once you have updated both values to your liking, click the Save Content button at the top right of the editor. Head back over to your Console tab and start the server back up. Your server will now properly categorize itself in the public list!
