How To Enable Crossplay On Your 7 Days To Die Server

Surviving the zombie apocalypse is always better with friends. 7 Days to Die V2.0 introduces official crossplay support, meaning you can now bring your entire group together regardless of their platform.

How Crossplay Works In V2.0

Before changing your settings, it is important to understand the specific rules and limitations for crossplay servers:

  • Crossplay is supported on dedicated servers only (no peer-to-peer hosting).
  • PC (Game Pass) and Console (PS5, Xbox Series X|S) can play together.
  • A max of 8 players per crossplay server is supported.
  • Mods are not allowed on crossplay servers with consoles.
  • Your server must use console-compatible settings to appear in the server browser.

Required Server Settings

To run a fully functional crossplay server for 7 Days to Die, the following settings need to be active in the serverconfig.xml file. These settings ensure your server appears in the console server browser and is accepted by the client.

  1. Stop your server in the MintServers panel.
  2. Navigate to your Files.
  3. Follow this exact path:
📁 server (or your main server directory)
📄 serverconfig.xml (Click to edit this file)
  1. Find ServerMaxPlayerCount set to maximum of 8.
  2. Find ServerAllowCrossplay set to True.
  3. Find EACEnabled set to True.
  4. Find IgnoreEOSSanctions set to False.
  5. Click Save Content and start your server!

Opening Your Crossplay Ports

Crossplay needs more than just your main game port. Console clients connect using your game port plus three additional consecutive ports — for example, if your game port is 26900, PS5 and Xbox players also need 26901, 26902, and 26903 open to reach your server.

⚠️ Important: These extra ports aren't something you can add yourself from the Network tab — they need to be added to your server manually on our end. Open a support ticket letting us know you're setting up crossplay, and our team will get the three additional ports added to your service.

Once those ports are added and your serverconfig.xml settings above are saved, restart your server and it will be fully visible and joinable for console players.

That's everything you need for cross-platform survival! If your console friends still aren't seeing your server after all of this, no worries! Just open a support ticket and our team will be happy to help.
