A custom server image is the perfect way to make your Rust server stand out in the community browser. It gives players a quick glimpse into your server's theme or branding before they even connect!
Let us walk through how to easily set up your header image using your MintServers panel.
Step 1: Prepare and Host Your Image
Rust requires your image to be hosted online so the game client can download it when players click on your server.
- Create your server banner. The recommended image size is 512x256 pixels for the best display quality.
- Upload your image to a trusted public image hosting website, such as Imgur.
- Copy the direct image link. This link must end with a file extension like .png or .jpg.
โน๏ธ Note on Discord Links:
Avoid using Discord image attachments for your server image. Discord links now expire over time, which will cause your server image to break after a few hours!

Step 2: Apply the Image in Game Settings
You can manage your server image directly from our built-in configuration menu without needing to edit any text files manually.
- Log into your MintServers game panel and select your Rust server.
- Navigate to the Game Settings tab on the left-hand sidebar.
- Scroll down until you see the SERVER IMAGE field.
- Paste your direct image link into the box.
Step 3: Save and Restart
Rust needs to reboot to apply the new listing details to the community browser.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of your Game Settings page.
- Navigate to the Console tab and Restart your server.
Your new image will appear in the server browser once the server is back online and fully booted!
