A detailed server description is essential for communicating your rules, wipe schedule, and community information to players before they even join. When set properly, this text appears right under your server title in the Rust browser.
Let us walk through how to easily set up your server description using your MintServers panel.
Step 1: Open Your Game Settings
You can manage your server description directly from our built-in configuration menu.
- Log into your MintServers game panel and select your Rust server.
- Navigate to the Game Settings tab on the left-hand sidebar.
Step 2: Add Your Description Text
Now you can type out exactly what you want players to read.
- Scroll through the settings until you find the field labeled DESCRIPTION.
- Type or paste your server rules and information into the box.
โน๏ธ Formatting Tip:
Because the description box is a single line in the panel, you must use \n wherever you want to create a line break. For example: Welcome to the server!\nRules:\n1. No cheating\n2. Be respectful

Step 3: Save and Restart
Rust needs to reboot to apply the new text to the community browser.
- Click the Save button at the bottom of your Game Settings page.
- Navigate to the Console tab and Restart your server.
Once your server is back online, your new rules and information will be visible to everyone checking out your server!
