How to Install Mods on a Stationeers Server

Stationeers servers on MintServers come with BepInEx already installed, so adding mods is as simple as uploading the mod file to the right folder. This guide shows you where it goes and how to adjust a mod's settings afterwards.

⚠️ Important Warning: Always stop your server on your MintServers panel before uploading or removing mods. Only download mods from their official pages, such as the author's GitHub releases.

Step 1: Download The Mod

Download the BepInEx version of the mod you want. Most mods come as a single .dll file. Before you download, check on the mod's page that it supports the current version of Stationeers, since game updates can break older mods.

Step 2: Upload The Mod To Your Server

  1. Log into your MintServers panel and click the Stop button at the top right to shut down your server.
  2. Navigate to the Files tab on the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Open the BepInEx folder, then the plugins folder:
📁 server (your server's root directory)
    📁 BepInEx
    📁 plugins
📄 YourMod.dll (Upload the mod file here)
  4. Upload the mod's .dll file into the plugins folder.
  5. Click Start at the top right of the panel.
💡 Pro Tip: Some mods only need to be on the server, while others also need to be installed by every player. Check the mod's page to see which one applies, and let your players know before they join.

Step 3: Change A Mod's Settings

Many mods create a settings file the first time the server starts with them installed. You will find these files in the config folder next to plugins.

  1. Stop your server.
  2. In the Files tab, open BepInEx, then config.
  3. Open the mod's .cfg file, change the values you want, and click the Save Content button.
  4. Click Start at the top right of the panel.

Removing A Mod

To remove a mod, stop your server, delete its file from the plugins folder, and start the server again. If you also want to reset its settings, delete its .cfg file from the config folder.

🛠️ Troubleshooting Mod Issues

  • Server will not start after adding a mod: Stop the server, remove the newest mod from the plugins folder, and start it again. If it boots, that mod is likely out of date for the current game version.
  • Cannot find the plugins folder: Start your server once so BepInEx can create its folders, then stop it and check again.
  • No settings file for the mod: Not every mod has one. If the mod does, it is usually created after the first start with the mod installed.
  • Players cannot join after adding a mod: The mod may need to be installed on their game too. Check the mod's page for details.

Your mods are now ready to go! If you get stuck getting a mod to load, no worries! Just open a support ticket and our team will gladly jump in and take a look.
