Whether you want to recreate your world in single-player or share your awesome spawn location with friends, finding your Minecraft server seed is incredibly simple. There are two quick ways to grab it depending on your access level.
โน๏ธ Important Note:
You must have OP/admin permissions to use the seed command in-game. If a seed was not manually set during world creation, the server automatically generates a random one based on the system time.

Method 1: Using Server Commands (Fastest)
If you are already an operator on your server, you can grab the seed without ever leaving the game.
- Join your Minecraft server.
- Open the in-game chat and type the following command:
- The seed will appear in chat. You can simply click on the text to automatically copy it to your clipboard!
Method 2: Checking Server Files
If you do not have OP permissions but have access to the MintServers control panel, you can easily find the seed inside your server files.
- Log into your MintServers panel and navigate to the Server Properties tab on the left sidebar.
- Scroll through the tab and look for the line that says
level-seed=. - The value immediately after the equals sign is your world's seed. Note: If the line is blank, you can also download the
level.datfile from your world folder and open it in an NBT editor to view the seed.
๐ ๏ธ Troubleshooting Tips
- Verify you have proper OP permissions if the in-game command returns an error.
- If you are in a single-player world, you can temporarily enable cheats by opening the pause menu, clicking "Open to LAN", and turning "Allow Cheats" to ON.
- If you are playing on a server and do not have access to the panel, you will need to contact your server administrator for assistance.
