By default, anyone with your Satisfactory server's IP and port can join. Setting a player password locks that down so only people you've shared it with can get in. This guide covers setting it, removing it, and how your friends use it to connect.
Step 1: Set Your Player Password
- Launch Satisfactory and go to Server Manager on the main menu.
- Select your server and click the Server Settings tab.
- Find Player Password Protection and click Change Password.
- Enter your desired password, then type it again in the confirmation field.
- Click Confirm, then Apply to save.
Step 2: How Friends Join a Password-Protected Server
Your friends still need your server's IP address and port to connect, the same as any other server. Our guide on joining a Satisfactory server covers that process in full. Once they reach the server, they'll be prompted to enter the password before they're allowed to join as a player.
Removing the Password
To open your server back up to anyone, go back to Server Settings, click Change Password under Player Password Protection, leave both fields blank, and click Confirm, then Apply.
If players say they're not being prompted for a password after you've set one, double-check that you clicked Apply and not just Confirm, and that the server has fully restarted since the change. If you run into any trouble getting it to save, no worries! Just open a support ticket and our team will be happy to help you get it locked down properly.
