Adding mods to your Core Keeper server is a great way to spice up your underground base with new items, quality-of-life improvements, and custom content. Because Core Keeper integrates directly with Mod.io, getting your mods set up requires a quick installation on both your personal computer and your server!
Let us get those mods installed so you and your friends can enjoy a customized experience.
Important Warning: Always make sure you download any required dependency mods that are listed on the mod's download page, or your game might crash! Also, remember to stop your server on the MintServers panel before making file changes.
Step 1: Installing Mods Locally (Client-Side)
Before you can join a modded server, you need to have the mods installed on your own game client first.
- Launch Core Keeper on your computer.
- From the main menu, click on the Mods option.
- Browse the Mod.io interface and Subscribe to the mods you want to use.
- Navigate to the Collections tab and confirm that the mods are toggled to Enabled.
- Restart Core Keeper so the game can load the new files.
Step 2: Downloading Server Mods
Now we need to get the exact same mods ready for the server.
- Open your web browser and navigate to the Core Keeper section on Mod.io.
- Search for the specific mods you just subscribed to (you can filter by "Server" tags if needed).
- On the mod's page, look at the right-hand sidebar and click the Manual Download button to save the
.zipfile to your computer.
Step 3: Uploading Mods to the Server
With the .zip files downloaded, we just need to place them in the correct folder on your server.
- Log into your MintServers panel and click the Stop button to safely shut down your Core Keeper server.
- Navigate to the Files tab on the left-hand sidebar.
- Navigate to your server's
StreamingAssetsfolder. Create a new directory namedMods, and inside that, create a specific folder for the mod you are installing (e.g.,ChestLabels). Follow this exact path: - Once you are inside that specific mod folder, click Upload and select the
.zipfile you downloaded in Step 2. - After the upload reaches 100%, right-click the
.zipfile (or click the three dots next to it) and select Unarchive or Decompress to extract the files.

📁 StreamingAssets
📁 Mods (Create this if it doesn't exist)
📁 ChestLabels (Name this folder after your mod)
Repeat Step 3 for any other mods you want to add. Once all your mods are extracted into their own respective folders, navigate back to the Console tab and click Start!
🛠️ Troubleshooting Mods
If your server fails to start, or if players get an error when joining, double-check that every player has the exact same mods enabled in their local game client. Core Keeper requires everyone to match perfectly!
If you are still having trouble loading mods or running into compatibility crashes, no worries — just open a support ticket and our team will gladly help sort it out with you.
