How To Add A Steam Workshop Collection To Your Garry's Mod Server

Adding a Steam Workshop Collection to your Garry's Mod server gives you access to tons of new mods, addons, and custom content. It makes it incredibly easy to add new features because you can quickly subscribe to a whole collection at once!

This saves you the time and effort of manually installing each addon one by one, and it ensures that all your players are downloading the exact same content to prevent any compatibility issues. Let us get your collection linked up.

Important Warning: Make sure your Steam Workshop collection is set to Public or Unlisted! If it is Private, the server will not be able to download the files.

Step 1: Get Your Collection ID

First, we need to grab the ID number of the collection you want to use from Steam.

1. Choose your desired Steam Collection from the Garry's Mod Steam Workshop.
2. Look at the URL address bar at the top of your browser or Steam client.
3. Copy the string of numbers at the very end of the URL (right after the ?id= part). This is your Workshop Collection ID!

Step 2: Link It To Your Server

Now we just need to paste that number into your panel settings.

1. Log into your MintServers panel.
2. Click the Stop button to safely shut down your server.
3. On the left-hand sidebar, navigate to the Game Settings tab.
4. Scroll down until you locate the Workshop Collection ID field.
5. Paste the numbers you copied from Step 1 into this box. The panel will automatically save your changes once you click outside the box.
6. Return to the Console tab and click Start.

That is it! As your server boots up, you will see it automatically communicating with Steam to download all the addons in your collection. Keep in mind that if you have a massive collection, the very first startup might take a few extra minutes while it downloads everything.

If your players are seeing ERROR signs in-game, you may also need to set up a Workshop Download Enabler addon in your collection to force their clients to download the files. If you run into any trouble, just open a support ticket and our team will get it sorted out for you!
