By default, Convoy sessions in Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator cap out at 8 players. But since game version 1.50, both games actually support up to 128 — the 8-player cap you see is just the default, not a hard limit.
Getting past it takes three separate changes: one on your server, one in your server's own game-client settings, and one on every single player's PC. Miss any of them and the server either won't raise its limit or simply won't show up for people trying to join.
Step 1: Raising The Limit On Your Server
- Log into your MintServers panel and click Stop to shut down your server.
- Open the Files tab and navigate to the following folder:
- Open
server_config.sii, find themax_playersline, and change it to your desired number, up to 128. - Open
config_ds.cfgin the same folder, findg_max_convoy_size, and set it to the same number. - Save both files, then head back to the Console tab and click Start.

Step 2: Matching It On Every Player's Own PC
This is the part that trips people up: raising the limit on your server isn't enough. Every player who wants to see or join your session, including you, needs to make a matching change on their own computer — otherwise the server simply won't appear in their Convoy browser.
- Make sure the game is fully closed.
- Open your
Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2orDocuments/American Truck Simulatorfolder and editconfig.cfgwith a text editor. - Find the line
uset g_max_convoy_size "8"and change the number to match your server, for example:
- Save the file and relaunch the game.
🛠️ If Players Still Can't See Your Server
Only some players see it:Not everyone has edited their own config.cfg yet. This change has to happen on every individual PC — there's no way to push it to players automatically.Nobody can see it, including you:Double-check both server_config.sii and config_ds.cfg were saved with matching numbers, and that the server was restarted after the change. The server appears but rejects the connection:Confirm your game and dedicated server are both updated to version 1.50 or later — this feature isn't available on older versions.
Once everyone's matched up, your session will show its full player count in the Convoy browser for anyone who's made the client-side change. If you run into anything unexpected along the way, open a support ticket and our team will help you sort it out.
