Adding moderators to your Euro Truck Simulator 2 server takes just a couple of minutes: grab each player's Steam64 ID, drop it into server_config.sii, and restart. Here's the quick version.
⚠️ Important Warning:
Stop your server in the MintServers panel before editing any files. If you save changes while it's still running, the game will overwrite them with its own settings when it shuts down.
Adding A Moderator
- Get the Steam64 ID for each player you want to promote. Copy their Steam profile link into any online Steam ID lookup tool — a valid ID is always 17 digits long and starts with 7656119...
- Log into your MintServers panel, click Stop, then open the Files tab and navigate to
.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2/server_config.sii. - Find the line
moderator_list: 0and change the number to match how many moderators you're adding. - List each Steam64 ID below it in array format, starting from [0]:
- Save the file, then head back to the Console tab and click Start.
💡 Good To Know:
Moderator permissions apply automatically the moment the player joins the session, not before. If someone is already connected when you add them, have them reconnect.

What Can Moderators Do?
🛠️ Moderator Chat Commands
/set_time HH:MM— change the in-session time of day./set_rain_factor VALUE— set rain intensity, from 0 to 1./help— list all available commands in-game.
That's it — your moderators are ready to help keep the convoy running smoothly. If a promoted player's commands aren't working, double-check their Steam64 ID for typos and confirm they've reconnected since being added. Still stuck? Open a support ticket and we'll help you sort it out.
