Want a fresh challenge? Each world in Stationeers has its own atmosphere, terrain, and difficulty, so switching worlds is a great way to keep your server interesting. This guide shows you how to change the world your server runs and which start options go with each one.
Changing The World
- Log into your MintServers panel and click the Stop button at the top right to shut down your server.
- Click Game Settings under the Tools section in the left-hand sidebar.
- Choose the world you want from the World Name dropdown.
- Choose a Start Condition and a Start Location that belong to that world. The lists further down this page show which options go with each world.
- Enter a new name in the Save Name field.
- Save your changes, then click Start at the top right of the panel.
If a save with that name already exists on your server, the server loads it. If it does not, the server starts a brand new world using the settings you chose. That also means you can switch back to an older world any time by entering its original Save Name. If you want extra peace of mind before switching, you can make a backup from the Backups tab first.
Choosing A World
- Mars - The classic starting world, with a thin atmosphere you can filter for resources. Recommended for new players.
- Lunar - No atmosphere at all, so you make every gas yourself. A good second world.
- Mimas - An advanced vacuum world with low gravity.
- Europa - An advanced world with extreme cold and weak solar power.
- Vulcan - An advanced, very hot world where cooling is the main challenge.
- Venus - The hardest world, combining extreme heat, pressure, and a corrosive atmosphere. Veterans only!
Start Conditions By World
Pick the Start Condition that matches your world. Note that DefaultStart and Brutal are only for Lunar and Mars. Every other world has its own versions.

VulcanBrutal start conditions, so that is not a typo. The "Community" start conditions may only work on the beta version of Stationeers. If one causes problems on your server, switch back to a standard option.
Start Locations By World
The DefaultStartLocation option works with any world. For a specific spawn point, pick one that belongs to your world:
| World | Start Locations |
|---|---|
| Lunar | LunarSpawnCraterVesperLunarSpawnMontesUmbrarumLunarSpawnCraterNoxLunarSpawnMonsArcanusLunarSpawnRoundRobinLunarRandom |

The Random options spawn each new player at a randomly chosen location. They are designed to be used with the BrutalCommunity start condition, which gives each new player a brutal start crate. The RoundRobin options may also only work on the beta version of the game.
🛠️ Troubleshooting World Changes
Old world loaded instead of the new one:The Save Name matched an existing save. Enter a new Save Name and start the server again.Server will not start:Check that your Start Condition and Start Location belong to the world you picked. For example,DefaultStartwill not work on Europa, which usesEuropaDefault.Players spawn somewhere unexpected:Double-check the Start Location setting, and remember that a Random or RoundRobin location changes where each new player appears.
Your server is now running a brand new world. If you have any trouble getting it to start, no worries! Just open a support ticket and our team will gladly jump in and take a look.
