How to Join The Forest Server - Server Hosting Guide

The Forest is a survival horror game developed by Endnight Games. Players find themselves stranded in a dense forest after a plane crash and must survive by gathering resources, building shelter, and fighting off hostile creatures. The Forest features highly intelligent AI that will react to the player's actions, with enemies using advanced tactics to undermine the player.

How to Join The Forest Server

Step 1: Access Your Server Panel

Navigate to https://mintservers.com/dashboard and log into your account.

Click on your The Forest server and then "Open Game Panel".

Step 2: Stop Your Server

Stop the server before making configuration changes.

Step 3: Access Startup Settings

Go to the Startup tab in your server panel.

Step 4: Generate Steam Account Token

In the Steam Account Token section, follow the link provided or go to https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers.

Step 5: Configure App ID

In the App ID section, input 242760.

Step 6: Add Memo (Optional)

Within the memo optionally input a name for the ID to help identify your server token.

Step 7: Create Token

Press the Create button to generate your Steam account token.

Step 8: Copy Login Token

Copy the Login Token that was generated.

Step 9: Configure Server Token

Paste the Login Token in the Steam Account Token section of your server panel.

Step 10: Set Server Name

Change the name of the server under Server Name to something memorable.

Step 11: Restart Server

Start and then Stop the server to apply the new configuration.

Step 12: Launch The Forest

From The Forest main menu, choose Multiplayer.

Step 13: Access Join Game

Choose Join Game to browse available servers.

Step 14: Select Dedicated Servers

Choose Dedicated (Internet) to search for dedicated servers.

Step 15: Find Your Server

Search for the name of the server from Step 10.

Step 16: Connect to Server

Choose the Join button to connect to your The Forest server and begin your survival horror experience.

Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble connecting, verify these common issues:

  1. Ensure the Steam Account Token was generated and applied correctly
  2. Verify the server was restarted after applying the token
  3. Double-check the server name matches what you set in Step 10
  4. Make sure the server is running and visible in the dedicated server list
  5. Confirm you have the same version of The Forest as the server
