How to Add a Server Token on a Don't Starve Together Server

Don't Starve Together requires a server token to authenticate and run your dedicated server properly. This unique authentication code links your server to your gaming account and enables proper multiplayer functionality. Without a valid server token, your DST server will not start or allow players to connect. Setting up this token is a mandatory first step before hosting any Don't Starve Together multiplayer sessions.

How to Add a Server Token on a Don't Starve Together Server

Step 1: Generate Your Server Token

Visit the official Klei Entertainment website to grab a server token.

Step 2: Log in to Platform

Log in to the desired platform (Steam, PlayStation, etc.) when prompted.

Step 3: Create Token

Enter a name for the token and click Add New Server.

Note: The name is only for the token and will not be the server's name.

Step 4: Copy Server Token

Copy the generated server token for use in your server configuration.

Step 5: Access Your Server Panel

Navigate to https://mintservers.com/dashboard and log into your account.

Click on your Don't Starve Together server.

Step 6: Stop Your Server

Stop the server before making configuration changes.

Step 7: Configure Server Token

Click the "Open Game Panel" button, then on the left side click Game Settings.

In the "Server Token" setting, input your newly created token from Step 4.

Step 8: Start Your Server

Start the server to apply the new token configuration.

Your Don't Starve Together server is now properly configured with authentication and ready for multiplayer survival adventures.

Troubleshooting

If you're having issues with your server token:

  1. Ensure the token was copied completely without extra spaces
  2. Verify you're logged into the correct platform account
  3. Check that the server is fully stopped before applying the token
  4. Make sure the token hasn't expired or been revoked
  5. Restart the server after applying the token changes
