Necesse controls admin access through a five-tier permission system rather than a traditional admin list. Once you understand the tiers, promoting a trusted player takes one command.
Permission Hierarchy
From lowest to highest access:
User
The default level every player joins with. No special permissions.
Moderator
Can manage players through commands like /kick and /ban, without touching world settings.
Admin
Full access to cheat commands and world manipulation, teleporting, spawning items, changing difficulty, and more.
Owner
The highest player rank, with complete control over the server, including setting other players' permissions.
Server
A console-only level with unrestricted access. Not assignable to a connected player.
Making a Player an Admin
- Make sure the player you want to promote is online and connected to your server.
- Open the Console tab on your MintServers panel.
- Type
permissions set, replacingadmin with the player's exact in-game name, and press Enter.
Want a different tier instead? Swap admin for moderator, owner, or user. You can also run permissions set to grant unrestricted console-level access, though this is rarely needed for an in-game player.
Setting Permissions From In-Game Chat
If you're already an Owner and playing on the server yourself, you can promote someone without leaving the game:
- Press Enter to open the chat box.
- Type
/permissions setand press Enter.
