Abiotic Factor
Abiotic Factor supports crossplay between PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, letting your friends team up no matter which platform they're on. Here's how to make sure crossplay is enabled for your server and for players joining it.
Step 1: Enable Crossplay In Your Game Settings
Before joining, each player needs Crossplay turned on in their own copy of the game, this is separate from the server setting.
- Launch Abiotic Factor.
- Open the Settings menu from the title screen.
- Scroll down to find the Crossplay option.
- Make sure the checkbox is enabled.
Since players on different platforms cannot add each other as friends, joining across PC and console requires a Lobby Code or direct connection rather than an invite. See our guide on joining an Abiotic Factor server for the full walkthrough.
Step 2: Confirm Crossplay Is Enabled On Your Server
Your server's crossplay setting lives in GameUserSettings.ini.
- Log into your MintServers panel and click the Stop button to safely shut down your server.
- Navigate to the Files tab on the left-hand sidebar.
- Browse to the following path:

📁 Saved
📁 Config
📁 WindowsServer
- Open the file and look for the following lines:
- If this section or line is missing, add it exactly as shown above.
- Save the file, then navigate back to the Console tab and click Start.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Common Crossplay Issues
Console players can't find the server:Give your server a unique, easily searchable name so it's easy for console players to find in their in-game server browser.Server doesn't appear right away on a new platform:It can take some time for a server to appear across every platform's browser after it first goes online. Try searching again after a while, or join with a Lobby Code instead.PC and console friends can't invite each other:This is expected, cross-platform friend invites aren't supported. Share a Lobby Code or direct connection instead.Changes not applying:Make sure the server was fully stopped before editing the file, and fully restarted afterward.
