Need to run multiple services like a Dynmap or a BungeeCord instance on a single server? Allocating additional network ports is the key. By default, MintServers provides you with ports to get started, but you can easily add more right from the game panel. This guide will show you how to create new port allocations for your server.
Why Allocate Additional Ports?
- Run Multiple Services: Use extra ports for plugins like Dynmap, for voice servers, or to connect to a BungeeCord/Velocity proxy.
- Greater Flexibility: Customize your server setup to handle exactly what you need without being limited to a single port.
- Improved Management: Keep different services organized by assigning each one a unique port.
How to Allocate Ports in the Panel
Adding a new port is a quick process in the MintServers game panel.
- Log into Your Account: Start by logging into your dashboard at MintServers Dashboard and accessing the Game Panel for your server.
- Navigate to the Network Tab: In the server management area on the left, click on the "Network" option.
- Create the New Allocation: Click the blue "Create Allocation" button. A new, unique port will be instantly generated and added to your list.
- Set the Primary Port (Optional): Your server's primary connection uses the port marked as "Primary". If you want the new port to be the main one players use to connect, simply click the "Make Primary" button next to it.
Requesting More Ports
By default, you can create up to 3 ports for your server directly from the panel. If you find that you need more than this initial limit for your projects, you can easily request additional ports. Just reach out to the MintServers support team through our official Discord.
Conclusion
Allocating extra ports is a simple yet powerful feature that unlocks your server's potential to host multiple services at once. Following the steps above, you can quickly manage your network settings. If you have any questions or need more ports allocated, don't hesitate to contact our support team for assistance.
