Your Stardew Valley server saves automatically - there's no manual save command to run. It happens at two points: when everyone goes to sleep, and when the server stops.
Automatic Save When Everyone Sleeps
Your server runs an automated host character behind the scenes. It goes to bed - saving the game - once night falls, or a few seconds after every other connected player has gone to sleep, whichever happens first. You can control exactly when "night falls" for the host with the Auto Sleep Time field covered in our Configuration guide.
Automatic Save When You Stop the Server
Stopping your server also saves your progress, but it does this by ending the current in-game day first. That means if you stop the server partway through a day, that day gets skipped to the next morning as part of saving. Everything you've earned, unlocked, or built up to that point is kept - you just won't be mid-afternoon anymore the next time you load in.
Turning This Off (Advanced)
If you'd rather stop your server without ending the day, you can disable that behavior through the FarmCreator mod's config file.
- Stop your server, open the Files tab, and navigate to the folder below.
📁 server (your main server directory)
📁 Mods
📁 FarmCreator
- Open
config.jsonand find theStopEndsDaysetting. - Change its value from
truetofalse.
- Save the file and Start your server.
