Admin access lets you control your Arma Reforger server from inside the game. This guide shows you how to set an admin password, log in as admin, and optionally give trusted players passwordless admin access.
Step 1: Set an Admin Password
Your server already comes with an admin password set in config.json. We recommend changing it to something only you and your trusted admins know.
- Log into your MintServers panel, go to the Console tab and click the Stop button.
- Navigate to the Files tab on the left-hand sidebar and open
config.json. - Find the
passwordAdminline inside thegamesection and enter your new password between the quotes. Use letters and numbers only, with no spaces, and keep the comma at the end of the line.
- Click the Save Content button at the top right of the file editor.
- Navigate back to the Console tab and click Start.
Step 2: Log In as Admin
- Join your server. See our Arma Reforger Join Server guide if you need help.
- Open the chat by pressing C in the lobby, or Enter while in-game.
- Type
#login YourAdminPassword, replacingYourAdminPasswordwith the password you set, and press Enter.
You are now logged in as admin. Admin status only lasts for your current session, so you need to run the command again each time you rejoin the server.
Optional: Passwordless Admin Access
If you do not want to type a password every time, you can add trusted players to the admins list. Players on this list can log in by typing just #login, with no password. The list is limited to 20 entries.
- Get the SteamID64 of each player you want to add. This is a 17-digit number starting with 7656, and you can look it up with a tool like steamid.io. The list also accepts Bohemia identity IDs.
- Stop your server and open
config.jsonin the Files tab, like in Step 1. - Find the
adminsline inside thegamesection. It is empty by default ("admins": []). Put your IDs between the brackets, with one ID per line in quotes, and keep the comma after the closing bracket:
- Click Save Content, then go back to the Console tab and click Start.
The examples above only show the lines you need to change. Leave everything else in your file in place. Each line needs a comma after it, except the last line in a section.
Troubleshooting
