How To Change The Seed On Your Minecraft Bedrock Server

Want a new seed? Set it in your panel, then give your world a new name so your server builds a fresh world with it.

⚠️ Important Warning:
A new seed means a brand new world, so everyone starts over. Make a backup first!

Step 1: Set Your New Seed

  1. On the Console page, click Stop.
  2. In the left sidebar, open Bedrock Settings and click Server Properties.
  3. Type your seed into Level Seed. Leave it blank for a random seed.

Step 2: Give Your World a New Name

Your server only uses the seed when it creates a new world. A new name makes it do that.

  1. On the same page, change Level Name (usually Bedrock level) to something new.

Your two fields should look something like this:

Level Seed 8675309
Level Name NewBedrockWorld
💡 Pro Tip: Your old world is not deleted. It stays in the worlds folder, so you can switch back by changing Level Name back to its old name.

Step 3: Start Your Server

Go back to the Console tab and click Start. Your server will build a fresh world with your new seed!

🛠️ Troubleshooting Tips

  • Still in your old world? You probably skipped Step 2. The Level Name must be a name your server has not used before.
