Frequently asked questions
How big is a 10,000 block world?
A freshly generated 10,000 × 10,000 world on 1.18+ is about 4 GB for the Overworld. Survival play adds to that over time.
Why are 1.18+ worlds so much bigger?
The Overworld went from 256 to 384 blocks tall, so each chunk takes roughly 40 to 50% more space.
How do I make an existing world smaller?
Delete unused chunks with a tool like MCA Selector. Stop the server and make a backup first.
