How to Enable Voice Chat on Your V Rising Server

V Rising's voice chat runs on Vivox, a third-party voice service from Unity. It isn't enabled by default on dedicated servers, you'll need to grab a set of free credentials from Unity and drop them into a config file. This guide walks through the whole process.

Getting Your Vivox Credentials

1. Go to the Unity Gaming Services dashboard and create a free account if you don't already have one.
2. From the dashboard, click Projects and create a new project.
3. Inside your project, click Products, then search for Vivox Voice and Text Chat and click Launch.
4. Click Overview, then click Next to go through the setup guide. Select Unity as your engine and click through to finish.
5. In the left sidebar of the Vivox product, click Credentials.
6. Note down the values for Server, Domain, Token Issuer, and Token Key. You'll need all four in the next step.

Creating ServerVoipSettings.json

1. Log into your MintServers panel and click the Stop button to safely shut down your server.
2. Navigate to the Files tab on the left-hand sidebar.
3. Browse to the Settings folder, the same folder that holds your server's ServerHostSettings.json and ServerGameSettings.json files:

4. Create a new blank file named exactly ServerVoipSettings.json.
5. Paste in the template below, then fill in your Vivox credentials from the previous step.

Fill in the fields using your Vivox Credentials page like this:

• VOIPIssuer = your Token Issuer
• VOIPSecret = your Token Key
• VOIPVivoxDomain = your Domain
• VOIPAPIEndpoint = your Server value

6. Save the file, then navigate back to the Console tab and click Start.

Enabling Voice Chat In-Game

1. Open V Rising.
2. Go to Options, then Sound.
3. Make sure Use Voice Chat is enabled.
