The Arma Settings tab in your MintServers panel gives you a form-based way to edit the most commonly used server.cfg options, no manual file editing required. This guide walks through what each of the basic fields does and how to set them up.
Editing Your Basic Settings
- Log into your MintServers panel and open the
Arma Settingstab. - Update any of the fields below to match your server.
- Click
Save, then restart your server for the changes to take effect.
What Each Field Does
Hostname:The name of your server as it appears in the Arma 3 server browser. This is what players search for to find you.Password:An optional password required for anyone to join the server. Leave this blank to run a public server.Password Admin:The password used with the in-game#logincommand to gain admin access, letting you kick, ban, and manage missions. This is separate from the join password above.Log File:The filename used for the dedicated server's console output log.Time Stamp Format:Controls how timestamps are written in the server-side log file. Options arenone, short, orfull.Motd:The "Message of the Day" shown to players when they connect. You can add multiple lines, commonly used for server rules, a Discord or TeamSpeak link, or a website.Motd Interval:How many seconds pass between each line of the Motd rotating into view, when more than one line is set.Max Players:The maximum number of players who can connect at once. The actual limit will be whichever is lower: this value, or the number of player slots in the mission being played.
#login in-game to take admin control. Handing out the wrong one to your players can give them admin access by mistake.
Going Further
The fields above cover the basics, but server.cfg has dozens of additional options for things like voting, mission rotation, and security. Click TEXT EDITOR at the top of the Arma Settings tab to edit the raw file directly if you need one of these. Bohemia Interactive's own Arma 3: Server Config File wiki page documents every available option in detail.
