Every Arma 3 server needs someone who can kick troublemakers, ban repeat offenders, and manage the mission. This guide covers the two ways to become admin on your server: logging in with your admin password, or whitelisting trusted players so they can log in without one.
Method 1: Logging In With Your Admin Password
This is the fastest way to get admin access, and works as soon as your server is running.
- Join your server in-game.
- Open the in-game chat.
- Type
#loginfollowed by your admin password, for example#login MyAdminPassword, and press Enter.
Your admin password is set in the Password Admin field, covered in our Basic Configuration guide.
Method 2: Whitelisting Trusted Players
Sharing a single admin password with your whole staff team means anyone who has it can log in and lock everyone else out. A cleaner option is whitelisting specific players by their Steam64 UID, so each of them can log in with just #login, no password needed.
- Get the Steam64 UID for each player you want to whitelist. You can find this by copying their Steam profile link into any online Steam ID Lookup tool; it will usually start with the numbers
7656.... - Log into your MintServers panel and open the
Arma Settingstab. - Click
TEXT EDITORat the top to edit the raw file. - Find or add the
admins[]line and list each UID, separated by commas, like the example below.
- Click
Save, then restart your server for the changes to take effect.
Once whitelisted, any of these players can type #login in-game with no password to take the admin role, first come first served. Whether someone logs in with the shared password or a whitelisted UID makes no difference to what they can do once logged in.
If you're having any trouble logging in as admin, no worries! Just open a support ticket and our team will gladly jump in and take a look.
