How to Switch Modpack Providers in the One-Click Modpack Installer

The Modpacks tab in your MintServers panel lets you install a modpack with a single click, but the search only pulls results from one provider at a time. If a modpack you're looking for doesn't show up, it's often not missing, it's just listed under a different provider.

💡 Pro Tip: The same modpack is sometimes republished under different names or versions across platforms. If a search comes up empty, try switching providers before assuming the pack isn't supported.

Why Provider Matters

Popular modpack platforms like CurseForge, Technic, ATLauncher, Feed The Beast, Modrinth, and Voids Wrath each host their own libraries. A modpack published exclusively on one platform will not appear in a search on another, even if the name is an exact match. This is a common source of confusion when a customer expects to find a modpack under the default provider and can't locate it.

How to Change the Provider

  1. Log into your MintServers panel and stop your server.
  2. Click on the Modpacks tab in the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Click the Provider dropdown near the top of the page. It will typically be set to CurseForge by default.
  4. Select the platform that hosts the modpack you're looking for from the list: ATLauncher, CurseForge, Feed The Beast, Modrinth, Technic, or Voids Wrath.
  5. Type the modpack name into the Search Query box.
  6. Click the download icon next to the correct result to install it.

Example: Installing Tekkit 2

Tekkit 2 is a good example of this issue in practice. It is not hosted on CurseForge, so searching for it under the default provider will return no results. Instead:

  1. Open the Modpacks tab and click the Provider dropdown.
  2. Select Technic from the list.
  3. Search for Tekkit 2 and click the download icon to install it.
⚠️ Important Warning: Changing the provider only changes where the installer searches for modpacks, it does not affect a modpack you have already installed. If you switch providers after installing a pack, your existing installation is not touched unless you choose to download a new one.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

  • Modpack still not showing up: Double-check the spelling of the modpack name, and try each provider one at a time if you're unsure which platform hosts it.
  • Installed the wrong version: Some modpacks have similarly named entries across providers. Compare the version number and last-updated date shown in the search results before installing.
  • Server won't start after installing: Give the installer a few minutes to finish downloading all mod files, especially for larger packs, before starting your server.

Switching providers takes just a couple of clicks and can save a lot of time hunting for a modpack that was there all along, just under a different platform. If you're still having trouble locating or installing a specific modpack, no worries! Just open a support ticket and our team will gladly help you track it down.
