Don't Starve Together
Have a great local world you want to share with friends? Moving your Don't Starve Together save to your MintServers host is a breeze! Re-uploading your local files ensures you do not lose any of your base building or character progress.
Let us walk through how to locate your local files and get them uploaded safely to your panel!
Step 1: Zip Your Local Save Files
First, we need to locate the world save on your personal computer and package it up so it is easy to upload.
- Open your computer's file explorer and navigate to your Documents folder.
- Go to the following path: Documents\Klei\DoNotStarveTogether
- Inside, you will see folders named Cluster_1, Cluster_2, etc. These represent your different save slots. Open the folder for the world you want to upload.
- Highlight everything inside this folder (including the Master folder, Caves folder, and cluster.ini file).
- Right-click the highlighted files and compress them into a single .zip file.
Step 2: Upload to Your Server
Now that your world is neatly zipped up, we can move it over to your server via the dashboard.
- Log into your MintServers panel and click the Stop button to ensure your server is completely offline.
- On the left-hand sidebar, click on the Files tab to open your File Manager.
- Navigate to the following folder path:
📁 server (main server directory)
📁 DoNotStarveTogether
📁 config
📁 server
- Delete any existing files inside this server folder to prevent conflicts with your new world.
- Click the Upload button at the top of the screen and select the .zip file you created in Step 1.
- Once the upload is complete, find the .zip file in your File Manager, right-click it, and select Unarchive or Extract.
- You can safely delete the .zip file after the extraction is finished!
Step 3: Start Your Adventure
- Head back over to your Console tab on the left sidebar.
- Click Start to boot up the server.
The server will read your newly uploaded configuration files and world data, and you will be right back where you left off!
🛠️ Troubleshooting Upload Issues
The server generated a new world: This usually happens if you zipped the entire "Cluster_1" folder instead of zipping the files inside of it. Double-check that your Master and Caves folders are sitting directly inside the remote /server/ folder, and not nested inside an extra folder.
