Abiotic Factor
Want to give a trusted friend admin powers on your Abiotic Factor server? Admins are managed through a single file, Admin.ini. This guide walks through adding moderators using Steam64 IDs.
Step 1: Finding A Steam64 ID
Before editing the file, you will need the Steam64 ID for each player you want to make a moderator. This is a long string of numbers unique to their Steam account.
Step 2: Accessing Admin.ini
- Log into your MintServers panel and click the Stop button to safely shut down your server.
- Navigate to the Files tab on the left-hand sidebar.
- Browse to the following path:
📁 AbioticFactor
📁 Saved
📁 SaveGames
📁 Server
If the file does not exist yet, create a new file and name it exactly Admin.ini.
Step 3: Adding Moderators
Open Admin.ini and add a [Moderators] section with one Moderator= line per player, using their Steam64 ID:
You can add as many moderators as you need, one line per player. To remove someone's admin access, delete their line and save.
Step 4: Applying Your Changes
- Once your list is formatted correctly, click the Save Content button at the top right of the file editor.
- Navigate back to the Console tab and click Start.
🛠️ Troubleshooting Common Admin Issues
Admin access not working:Make sure you used the exact formatModerator=SteamID64, with no typos, and that you did a full server restart rather than just rejoining.Wrong Steam64 ID:Double-check the ID with a Steam ID lookup tool. A single incorrect digit will stop it from matching the right account.Console player can't be made an admin:This method only supports Steam64 IDs, so Xbox and PlayStation players cannot be added this way.
